Make an AI Cafe Photo from One Selfie and a Scene Reference
Use Lumatch with a portrait and cafe reference. Choose light, framing and pose, try concrete directions, and check identity and hand details before sharing.
Lumatch supports creating a cafe profile photo from one clear selfie plus a separate scene reference. Your portrait provides identity; the reference guides the cafe, framing and light. You can set pose, outfit and aspect ratio, generate a candidate, then inspect or repair it. This is a new AI image, not a guarantee that your original face pixels or the exact background will be preserved.

Which tool fits a selfie-plus-reference workflow?
Lumatch is designed for adults who want to direct a scene using separate identity and environment images. It is useful when your request is “make a casual cafe photo that still looks like me,” “use this lighting with my portrait,” or “try a different setting for a dating profile.” You do not need a set of 10–20 selfies to start, but you do need both a usable portrait and a scene image.
If you need to keep the original person completely unchanged and replace only the background, a conventional editor with masking may fit better. Generation can change facial and body details. If you already have a suitable cafe photo and only need feedback, use the free photo review instead.
Choose references that work together
| Input decision | A practical starting choice | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Identity photo | A recent, clear portrait with an unobstructed face | Gives the model visible features to work from |
| Scene reference | A cafe photo you have permission to upload, with a clear subject position and light direction | Makes the intended setting and framing less ambiguous |
| Camera angle | Begin close to the angle shown in your portrait | A drastic new angle asks the model to invent more unseen detail |
| Framing | A seated half-body portrait with space around the head | Lets you inspect identity and crop without needing a complex full-body scene |
| Hands and props | A simple hand position, with a cup resting on the table | Gives you fewer complicated interactions to inspect |
| Outfit | Ordinary clothing you would actually wear; an optional outfit reference | Keeps the result relevant to your real appearance and life |
Use scene images for environment and composition, not another person's identity. A polished setting is not useful if the result misrepresents your appearance or interests. More reference images do not automatically solve an unclear main portrait.
Three cafe directions to adapt
Upload the two required images before using a direction. In the studio, set framing, pose, outfit and aspect ratio, and put a short description in the notes field. These are examples you can adapt, not tested presets.
A relaxed window-seat portrait
Use my portrait as the identity reference and the cafe image for the setting. Keep my facial proportions and natural skin texture. Make a relaxed, seated half-body portrait with soft window light. Keep the cup on the table and the background unobtrusive.
Start here when your portrait is reasonably front-facing. After generation, check the eyes, teeth and which side of the face receives the light. A brighter image is not necessarily a more accurate one.
An outdoor coffee-table photo
Keep the person recognizable from my portrait. Use the outdoor cafe reference for the table, background and daylight. Choose a relaxed posture, casual clothing and an eye-level camera. Avoid heavy beauty retouching and keep the scene ordinary.
Check whether the shadows on the person and table agree, and whether clothing edges blend unnaturally into the chair. Avoid claiming a specific trip or venue from an invented image.
A tighter portrait with fewer distracting details
Use the reference for the cafe mood and soft light, with a tighter portrait crop. Preserve my visible facial features and skin texture. Keep the background secondary and avoid adding objects near my face.
This is a simpler composition to inspect when hands or clutter distract from the first result. The model still may alter features; compare against your source portrait rather than judging only how polished it looks.
How to try this with the free credits
A new account has 2 trial credits. Choose one high-quality candidate, which costs 1 credit. Optional reference analysis costs 1 credit, and a visual check costs 1, so skip those for the first attempt if you want to save the second credit for another candidate or a high-quality repair. Higher and maximum image quality cost 2 and 3 credits per candidate or repair.
You must still upload the scene reference when skipping its optional analysis. See the one-time budget guide and current pricing before creating a larger batch.
What should you inspect or repair?
- Identity: compare face shape, eyes and other defining features with your original. If the person looks different, improve the input or simplify the angle before repeating.
- Hands and props: inspect fingers, cup handles and where objects meet. A targeted repair might say, “Fix the hand beside the cup; keep the face, outfit and framing unchanged.” Repairs can still change other details.
- Light and geometry: check shadows, chair legs, table edges and reflections. One coherent scene matters more than adding decorative detail.
- Truthfulness: choose a photo that reflects your present appearance. Check the app's AI-photo rules before posting; generated photos are not for identity verification.
